Happy New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Cheers to New Beginnings: Embracing Happiness in 2024

HAppy New Year

As the clock strikes midnight and the echoes of cheers reverberate, we find ourselves standing on the precipice of a brand-new year. It’s a time for celebration, reflection, and most importantly, a moment to set our sights on the possibilities that lie ahead. While the past year may have been filled with its share of challenges, let’s bid adieu to 2023 with a heartfelt smile and welcome 2024 with open arms. Here’s to happiness, to looking forward, and to the promise of brighter days.

1. Cultivate a Gratitude Practice

In the pursuit of happiness, gratitude is a powerful ally. Take a moment each day to reflect on the things you’re grateful for. Whether it’s the warmth of a morning sunbeam, the laughter of a friend, or the simple joys of everyday life, acknowledging and appreciating these moments can shift your focus from what’s lacking to the abundance that surrounds you.

2. Embrace Mindfulness and Presence

Amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life, finding moments of stillness can be transformative. Explore mindfulness practices, whether it’s through meditation, deep-breathing exercises, or simply immersing yourself fully in the present moment. Being mindful allows you to appreciate the richness of each experience, fostering a sense of contentment and peace.

3. Engage in Acts of Kindness

There’s immense joy in giving, and acts of kindness need not be grandiose. Small gestures, like offering a helping hand, sharing a genuine compliment, or sending a thoughtful message, can create ripples of positivity. The beauty of kindness lies not only in brightening someone else’s day but also in the warmth it brings to your own heart.

4. Pursue Personal Passions

In the hustle of daily life, personal passions can often take a backseat. 2024 is the year to rediscover and invest time in the activities that bring you joy. Whether it’s painting, writing, playing a musical instrument, or exploring a new hobby, indulging in your passions nourishes your soul and adds a vibrant hue to the canvas of your life.

5. Foster Positive Connections

Human connections are the threads that weave the fabric of a fulfilling life. Nurture your relationships with positivity, open communication, and a genuine interest in the well-being of others. Surround yourself with individuals who uplift, inspire, and support you on your journey. The joy of shared experiences and meaningful connections is unparalleled.

As we stand on the threshold of 2024, remember that happiness is not found in the rearview mirror. It’s in the choices we make each day, the perspectives we adopt, and the actions we take to create a brighter tomorrow. So, let go of the weights of the past, unfurl your wings, and soar into the possibilities of the new year.

2023 is but a chapter in the grand novel of your life, and the narrative of 2024 is unwritten. The pen is in your hand, the canvas is blank, and the choice to move forward in happiness and positivity is entirely yours to make. Here’s to new beginnings, to growth, and to the countless moments of joy awaiting you in the chapters yet to unfold. Happy New Year! May 2024 be a year of boundless happiness, growth, and endless possibilities.

Clubhouse

Clubhouse App, used it yet?

Have you heard of Clubhouse? It’s an app on the apple products via iPhone/iPad. Android might be available in the future.  https://www.joinclubhouse.com/

So what is Clubhouse or CH as some call it? Clubhouse is a new type of social network based on voice—where people around the world come together to talk, listen and learn from each other in real-time. I love it! Clubhouse is an invitation-only audio-chat social networking app launched in 2020 by software developers Alpha Exploration Co. As of December 2020, it was valued at nearly $100 million. On January 21, 2021, the valuation reached $1 billion.

It reminds me of the old party lines back in the day. Not exact but you don’t know the people that come into the rooms till you chat with them.  It is ADDICTING! I can tell you first hand, I have had to limit myself from the hours of usage and or time of day. Like any other app there are the fake people, the sales people, the drama people and general riff raff as I call it on the app. Just ignore that and find your tribe. My friend Liz Mahoney found her tribe, and after sitting in her room, I love the idea of being Limitiless.

If you aren't on Clubhouse, you are missing out! From Grant Cardone, Mark Andreseen and Gary Vaynerchuck all the way down to normal entrepreneurs sharing their start up growth, scaling or exit strategies, almost every conversation I have had has given me monetary or network returns. An amazing platform to market your business and make new friends!

https://www.joinclubhouse.com/

As of February 2021, it is in beta still and y invite only. I have a few left and reserved as we speak. I would suggest you get on your favorite social media app and ask people if they have an invite so you too can get in on the fun times.

I could sit here and review this app, I am not going to do that today. What I am going to do is tell you how it works or could work for you. First off, if your in sales, push that word aside. DO NOT go into room and or work to sell what you have or do. Instead introduce yourself and get to know the people and they will ask what you do, and then and only then you can give your 30 second pitch, although it is stretched to 1-3 minutes. Be honest with people and keep it short. If you try to sell, you will get blocked by people and they will stay away from you and tell others. It is a sure way to get nothing out of the app. So be kind and follow the rules. I can help you if you want, reach out to me and we can work a room together for your first time.

My first time in the app after being invited by good friend Liz Mahoney, was not that good. All I heard was drama and everyone was all over the place. The direction of the mods was not monitored and no control in the rooms. In fact I saw a lot of trolls in the room just causing hate or drama. Ugh.  After a few weeks, I decided to try it again. This time, I scrolled through what they call the Hallway and after hitting a few rooms, I heard the conversations and it seemed to be different this time around. After scrolling a few rooms, I left the room quietly. That’s what they call it.

All of sudden, I saw a headline. “This is my last room on Clubhouse, I am done!” – That intrigued me to go in and hear what was going on. Upon entering the room, I noticed about 64 people total with about 8-10 moderators (MODS). After hearing a few topics that was going around, I finally decided to step out of my comfort zone and pitch in my 2 cents. it was not long before people were connecting with me and or asking me questions and I too became a MOD. WOW!

Long story short, myself and roughly 20 others loved the connections and new friendships, we decided to keep the room going, indefinite. I wanted to set a new record of 365 days. I had heard around 20 ish days were currently in process. But our room died out soon after 75 hours.

What happened next is I found myself pitching in and helping wherever I could. What I found out is this. People need to talk and we need to listen more. The conversations were ALL over the place and almost every topic you could think of. Even some we possibly should have ended sooner. The result was astounding. I found a tribe and connections and it was not too long before I was helping create rooms, opening the conversation and helping MOD where needed.

As of today, I write this as it was time to let people know about Clubhouse and what it really can do for you, like my new friend Shelly Yoshimura from Hawaii.

Clubhouse has helped me open up more and bring out my confidence. Meeting people around the world and bonding with friends has become an addicting habit. This platform has helped me in many ways, as well as finding my gifts as a light worker. I truly believe this app can help so many people out there: not only for the reasons I mention, but for business and other opportunities.

The question for you: Will you get on Clubhouse and try it?

Yes is my answer. Why not? That being said, it is not for everyone, and I have stated this, find your tribe, figure out what you like and stick with that. Don’t be afraid to try different rooms and topics.

As I close ths blog, I find myself using Clubhouse more along with Instagram and Instagram’s direct messanging (DM) as opposed to using Facebook 100 percent. I also started to use LinkedIN a little more too as I make new connections. Not sure I found my tribe 100 percent and I have yet to create my open room, for me, I like meeting new people and I really feel that millions of others do as well. So stop wasting time thinking about it, got find a friend and get an invite and see what it actually can do for you. Just remember this last thing I need to warn you about once again….IT’S ADDICTING!

Thank you to Liz and Shelly for the contributions to this blog. Go visit their companies and let them know I sent ya there. I know they would appreciate hearing from you.

Episode #0008 with Zane Benson

In ZAAAAAANNNE . . .

Like any other show I start out with, I always seem to get phone calls right before a show. I know I could just ignore the call but this time it was someone that calls me for specific situations. Now that I got the public message out of the way, we can talk about what this show. I consider Zane a personal friend, for life. We connect on so many levels. You know the friend where you do not talk often but when you do, you pick up right where you left off. He’s that guy. Maybe not perfect in all aspects of life, but he is a friend, a father and loves people in all walks of life and the biggest part of Zane, he has a gift like me to help people. So, if I were you reading this, go out and find him, and tell him I sent ya.

On this episode, I am not real sure we covered all that I wanted and that usually happen with us two. That being said, we had a great time talking and in general I think we changed lives. If your curious, then go watch us and leave a comment after.

Thank you Zane for taking a moment in life to share your heart, your family and of course your time to share with others. I’ll have you back!

Episode #0007 with Amanda Hall

Do you know Amanda? Amanda Hall that is?

Yes/No, well your about to find out. She is a talker! But on the good side of talking, and the bonus, she can make you laugh and stop you in your tracks all in one swoop. That’s the Amanda I know.

I met her through Dawn Cruzan from Camp Craig Allen, a non-profit in Texas. I volunteered my time for a few years here and there and at some of their events. I was able to work closely with Amanda when she coordinated the event or whatever production they were working on at that time.

Over the years, Amanda has shown her true colors of the type of person she is. And let me tell you, she is your best friend from the get go. The only thing you have to worry about is simple, don’t break the trust. That’s it in a nutshell. She has a character but trust me, I have never met someone with her type caring and loving humor and the love for life all wrapped up in a beautiful smile. So friend beware haha. No, really she is awesome and I am honored to have met and know her over the years.

Ok, now on this episode, we talk and talk and talk and talk. Wait, you thought for a sec I would tell you about this episode. You were wrong! Go watch it, and I promise you, there will a few things you may not know about her.

Thank you Amanda for taking a little time away from life to visit and talk about the good things from past and the future. I wish you well, godspeed!

I dare ya to go watch and find out who she really is!

Episode #0006 with Urshel Lee Metcalf

Can you believe this is episode #0006 already???

On this episode I bring in a friend, colleague and all around great guy. Oh and he is a former Marine, duh! I had this wild idea planed for this show and when we started the conversation, we had a few laughters and it was like the energizer bunny, we kept on talking and talking and talking.  That was ok with us because we had so much to share.

During the show I decided to pull the ole one word ask, one word answer trick. Urshel did really well but I stumped him on a few. (go watch it). We laughed a little more than usual, in the end, the answers were perfect.

I can’t say thank you enough to Urshel for taking a moment in time to be on this show and share his heart and thoughts.

Episode 6 is in the books, now before you do anything else, WATCH THE SHOW!! GO!
